Aurélien Tchouaméni prefers a move to Real Madrid this summer despite Premier League interest, as Europe’s leading clubs consider bids for the Monaco midfielder.
Tchouaméni has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s most promising talents across the past two seasons, being named as the division’s Young Player of the Year in 2020/21 and breaking into the France national side.
The 22-year-old – who scored his first international goal with a stoppage-time winner during Les Bleus’ friendly win over Ivory Coast on Friday – is being tracked by several leading sides with AS reporting Real Madrid are keen on the midfielder.
The Spanish side view Tchouaméni as a long-term replacement and competition for Casemiro in defensive midfield and could make a move for another of France’s brightest talents after securing the signing of Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes last summer.
Tchouaméni – who Monaco value in the region of €60m – is believed to favour a move to Real Madrid over approaches from Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United having all been credited with an interest.
Tchouaméni could be the latest arrival in Real’s rebuild, though the initial focus of Los Blancos this summer is on high-profile deals for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
