Ralf Rangnick has outlined what he expects from Manchester United ahead of the club’s clash with Everton this weekend.
United have won just one of their last four Premier League fixtures with last weekend’s draw with Leicester leaving the Red Devils seventh, three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham in the race for Champions League qualification.
Rangnick’s side take on an Everton team struggling near the bottom of the division on Saturday lunchtime and can ill-afford another slip up in their pursuit of the top four.
Ahead of the clash the German has revealed what he expects from his players at Goodison Park, insisting the ‘mentality, attitude and physicality’ of his team is even more important than their tactical approach.
“Our game plan and tactics is one thing tomorrow, but the other thing and, probably the most important thing, is our mentality, attitude and physicality,” said Rangnick at his pre-match press conference.
“These factors will decide [the game].”
“Character, energy and commitment [will be important] to winning the game in that atmosphere, which will be similar to the one at Leeds.
“We’re all aware of the importance of the game for both sides.”
