Ralf Rangnick admits he understands the ‘disappointment’ from the Manchester United fans following a training ground protest from supporters.
Police were called to the club’s Carrington training ground on Friday following protests from a number of fans ahead of the players’ arrival, voicing their displeasure with the Red Devils’ results and performances this season.
United have won just one of their last five Premier League fixtures to fall six points behind Spurs in the race for a top four finish and produced an abject performance to lose 1-0 at struggling Everton last weekend.
The Red Devils face a huge challenge to secure Champions League qualification for next season and will end the current campaign without major silverware for a fifth consecutive season.

Speaking ahead of the club’s clash with Norwich in the Premier League this weekend, interim manager Rangnick admitted he understands the fans’ frustrations.
“We all know that football is a game of passions and emotions and we can all understand. I can understand the supporters being disappointed about where we stand in the table and the performance against Everton,” he told his pre-match press conference.
“I still believe our supporters are one of the best, if not the best in England, as long as they do the protest in a peaceful way and as long as they still support the team in the stadium. They have the right to express their opinion.
“Emotionally I can understand them being disappointed.”
