Alexandre Lacazette says he is open to leaving Arsenal this summer as the forward approaches the end of his contract.
Lacazette will be a free agent this summer and a decision on an extension at Arsenal has been placed on hold until the end of the season, with both the Gunners and forward exploring their options.
The 30-year-old has been free to negotiate with foreign sides from January and has revealed he has held discussions with ‘a lot of clubs’ over a potential move, admitting his desire to play Champions League football after an extended absence from Europe’s elite at Arsenal.
“I am in discussions with a lot of clubs,” Lacazette told Canal Plus, as per The Athletic.
“I am open. I have never cut contact with Lyon since I left.
“I try to return to the club once or twice a year to see the medical staff because we are really close. Lyon know that I am free, they have to come with a proposal.
“I want to play in Europe, it’s been a long time since I played in the Champions League, I’m missing it.
“It’s a little more complicated, nothing is impossible in life, but it’s a little more complicated.”
Lacazette signed for Arsenal from Lyon in a then club record £46.5m deal in 2017 and has scored 71 goals in 201 appearances across all competitions for the North Londoners.
He has captained the side this season following the exit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but has been criticised for his goal return after scoring just four Premier League goals.
