Chelsea’s Rudiger to decide future ‘in coming weeks’

Antonio Rudiger is set to decide his future ‘in the coming weeks’ as the Chelsea defender approaches the end of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Rudiger is into the final months of his deal at Chelsea and has so far failed to agree terms on an extension with the West Londoners, though the Germany international has not ruled out remaining at the club.

Chelsea’s ownership situation has complicated matters regarding a new deal and Rudiger has been free to negotiate with foreign sides from January.

Real Madrid remain interested in a deal for the centre-back, whilst both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are both ‘pushing’ to secure in a race described as ‘open’ by Fabrizio Romano, while Manchester United have also been linked.

Romano is reporting that a decision on Rudiger’s future is expected in the coming weeks with Chelsea awaiting news on the player’s choice.

Rudiger has been an integral part of the Chelsea side under Thomas Tuchel and starred during the club’s run to Champions League success last season. He has made 45 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring five goals.

Andreas Christensen is also out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season and the Denmark international has been linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
