Bayern Munich are interested in a deal to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool and have held talks with the forward’s representatives.
Mane will enter the final 12 months of his contract at Liverpool this summer and negotiations over a new deal have been described as ‘difficult’, despite the Reds desire to keep the Senegal international at Anfield.
Sky Sports Germany are reporting that Mane can ‘imagine’ leaving Liverpool for Bayern this summer, with a ‘clear development’ on a potential move after the forward’s agent met with the Bundesliga champion’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidžić, over the weekend.
Julian Nagelsmann is keen to add the 29-year-old to his options with uncertainty surrounding the future of Robert Lewandowski, who is keen to leave Bavaria in search of a new challenge.
Mane has enjoyed an excellent individual season at Liverpool and has scored 23 goals in all competitions for the Reds, impressing after moving into a more central role following the arrival of Luis Diaz in January.
News #Mané: He can really imagine to join #FCBayern this summer! There is movement in talks with the player and his management. Next 3-4 weeks are decisive. Nagelsmann & Brazzo want him. Transfer fee probably less than €50m. @SkySportDE #TransferUpdate 🟨🇸🇳 https://t.co/qBhLogrvzM

Sky Germany believe a fee less than €50m would be enough to prise Mane from Merseyside, though there have been no direct negotiations between the two clubs at present.
Mane’s contract situation at Liverpool is complicated given a number of senior stars are in similar positions, with both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino also having just one year remaining on their current deals.
