Marcos Alonso has told Chelsea he wants to leave the club this summer, with Barcelona interested in signing the wing-back.
Alonso is keen to return to Spain and is understood to have reached an agreement with Barcelona over personal terms, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the defender has requested to leave Chelsea this summer.
The Spain international made 46 appearances across all competitions last season, though his opportunities were increased following a season-ending injury to Ben Chilwell and the latter’s return will reduce Alonso’s role in the side.
Barcelona are currently waiting to discover Chelsea’s valuation of the full-back and are also interested in a deal to sign Cesar Azpilicueta from the Blues.

The Catalans have already reached an agreement over the free signing of Andreas Christensen from Chelsea as the club continue their rebuild under Xavi.
Alonso has made 212 appearances for the west Londoners since signing from Fiorentina in 2016 and has won the Premier League and Champions League among his honours at Stamford Bridge.
