Paul Pogba is ‘finalising’ a free transfer return to Juventus with the midfielder set to sign a four-year contract in Turin.
Pogba is a free agent after leaving Manchester United at the expiry of his contract and is set to make a return to Juventus, six seasons after leaving the Serie A side for Old Trafford.
Sky Sports are reporting that the France international’s representatives are nearing an agreement with Juventus over a deal, though ‘dialogue’ remains open with Paris Saint-Germain who are also interested in signing the 29-year-old.
Pogba spent four seasons with Juventus between 2012 and 2016, emerging as one of Europe’s most promising midfielders before signing for United in a then-world record £89m deal.
He won four consecutive Serie A titles with the Bianconeri and was named in the division’s Team of the Season on three occasions.
His exit from Manchester United brought an end to a disappointing spell in English football, in which the World Cup winner failed to produce his best football on a consistent basis.
Pogba is one of several senior names to leave the Red Devils on a free transfer this summer, alongside Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata.
