Manchester United and Arsenal are considering moves to bring Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League from Roma.
Abraham has impressed since leaving Chelsea to sign for Roma last summer, scoring 27 goals in all competitions to set a new club record for the highest scoring debut campaign at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 24-year-old scored nine goals as Roma won the inaugural Europa Conference League under Jose Mourinho and his performances have seen both Manchester United and Arsenal linked with a move.
The Daily Mail are reporting that both clubs are interested in signing Abraham as the duo look for attacking reinforcements at centre-forward. United have seen Edinson Cavani leave on a free transfer this summer, whilst the futures of several striking options remain uncertain.
Arsenal are also looking to sign a centre-forward and have just Eddie Nketiah among their senior forwards at present. The Gunners have made the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City their priority, but could turn to Abraham as a potential alternative.
Chelsea – who could allow Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter Milan on loan this summer – inserted a buy-back option into Abraham’s sale last summer.
Corriere Dello Sport have reported that Abraham remains happy at Roma however, and does not want to leave after a promising first campaign in Italy.
Abraham will be hoping to secure his place in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup with another strong season, having scored three goals in 11 caps for Gareth Southgate’s side.
