Brazilian attacker Antony ‘determined’ to join Man United

Antony is ‘determined’ to reunite with Erik ten Hag this summer and join Manchester United.

United have held initial discussions with Ajax over a deal for the winger, who scored 12 goals and provided ten assists across all competitions last season.

The Red Devils have not submitted an official offer for the 22-year-old but have been handed a boost in their pursuit with Antony keen on a move to the Premier League.

Goal are reporting that the Brazil international is ‘determined’ to rejoin Ten Hag in English football, having shone under the Dutchman’s guidance since signing for Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020.

Ten Hag wants to add to his attacking options this summer with Edinson Cavani having departed on a free transfer, whilst Anthony Martial’s future is uncertain and Mason Greenwood remains unavailable.

Antony could solve a problem position on the right flank for the Red Devils, with Ten Hag keen to make as many as five new signings before the transfer window’s deadline.

United remain in talks over a deal for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, whilst the club have also been linked with Christian Eriksen. Additions at centre-back and right-back are also being targeted as Ten Hag begins his rebuild at Old Trafford.

Antony could be the latest name to leave Ajax, with Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui having left the Dutch champions to sign for Bayern Munich. Ajax have also agreed to sell Sebastian Haller to Borussia Dortmund for a fee of €35m.
