Christopher Nkunku has signed a new contract at RB Leipzig, amid interest in the forward from Premier League clubs.
Nkunku enjoyed a stand-out season last term to be named as the Bundesliga’s Player of the Season, scoring 35 goals and providing 18 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions for the German side.
The 24-year-old’s form has seen the forward break into the France side and attract interest from across Europe, with Manchester United and Chelsea among the clubs linked with a summer move.
Nkunku has instead turned down interest to sign a new deal at Leipzig, though the contract – which will run until 2026 – will have a release clause of €60m that will become active next summer.

Nkunku scored in the final to help Leipzig to DFB-Pokal success last season, winning the competition for the first time in the club’s history, and said his ‘story’ with the club is not yet over after penning a new deal.
“I’m pleased to continue wearing the RB Leipzig shirt,” he told the club’s official website.
“After our great achievement in winning the DFB-Pokal, it remained clear that my story here isn’t over yet – we want more!
“I was really impressed with the club’s efforts to keep me, so a big thanks goes to those responsible for the trust in me and especially to Oliver Mintzlaff, with whom I was always in close contact.
“RB Leipzig have made a name for themselves on the international stage in recent years and have shown time and again that we can compete for titles. We want to build on that going forward and go one step further.”
