Inter Milan have set an asking price of £12m for Cesare Casadei with Chelsea interested in a deal to sign the midfielder.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have seen an opening offer of £6m turned down and will need to double that proposal before Inter will consider the sale of the promising teenager.
Chelsea are understood to have extensively scouted Casadei and are pushing hard to secure a deal for the 19-year-old, who has shone for club and country at youth level.
Casadei has not yet made his senior debut for Inter and Chelsea want to secure his signing for the club’s academy side before planning a path to first-team football at Stamford Bridge.
The Mail are reporting that the west Londoners view Casadei as a long-term solution in the club’s midfield, with both N’Golo Kante and Jorginho into their thirties and having entered the final 12 months of their respective deals.
Chelsea are also open to loaning Casadei back to a Serie A side as the Blues look to continue his development. His signing could be the third teenage arrival at the club this summer, following deals for Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka.
