Conte reveals what he ‘loves’ about Harry Kane

Antonio Conte has lavished praise on Harry Kane and has revealed what he ‘loves’ about the Tottenham forward.

This week marks a decade since Kane came on as a late substitute in a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle to make his Premier League debut, with the 28-year-old having since established himself as one of the division’s greatest goalscorers.

Kane’s goal at Chelsea last weekend moved him to joint-fourth in the Premier League’s all-time goal charts, while his 184 league goals for Spurs are the joint-most scored for a single club, a record shared with ex-Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Wolves, Conte hailed what he believes are the England captain’s best qualities.

“For sure, he is one of the best strikers that I had in my career as a coach,” Conte told his pre-match press conference.

“The characteristic that hit me about Harry, is that he has great talent, he is a number nine but at the same time can become a number 10 during the game.

“But what I love about him is the desire, the will to work and to be a good example for his team-mates. I appreciate that a lot, I love it, to see a player, a world-class striker to be a good example, because if you have this type of example it is more simple with you to work with the rest of the players.”
