West Ham have made an offer of £33.7m for Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta, while the Hammers are also chasing a deal for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.
David Moyes is pushing for new signings in the final days of the summer transfer window, with West Ham bottom of the Premier League following a disappointing start to the season.
The Hammers are without a point or goal scored after three Premier League fixtures and reinforcements are now on the agenda.
West Ham have submitted a bid for Pacqueta, who has been linked with both Arsenal and Newcastle this summer. The Brazil international scored 11 goals in all competitions last season and wants to join a Premier League club before the transfer deadline.

The 24-year-old is comfortable in a number of roles and was the only player to register 50+ shots, take-ons completed and tackles made in Ligue 1 last season. No agreement has yet been reached, but discussions are continuing over a fee and personal terms.
West Ham are also monitoring Conor Gallagher’s situation at Chelsea. The midfielder made his first start of the season during the Blues’ 3-0 loss at Leeds last weekend and is keen for a regular role ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
Everton are also interested and have requested either Gallagher or Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea, as part of a deal that would take Anthony Gordon to Stamford Bridge.
Crystal Palace would also like to re-sign the 22-year-old after a successful loan spell last season, in which Gallagher was named as the Eagles’ Player of the Season.
