Bayern set to rival Man United and Liverpool for Barca wonderkid Gavi

Bayern Munich are set to rival Manchester United and Liverpool in the race to sign Gavi from Barcelona.

Europe’s leading clubs are tracking the midfielder following his exciting emergence in Spain, with the teenager having cemented his place as a key figure for club and country.

The 18-year-old – who has already earned 10 caps for Spain at international level – is out of contract next summer and has so far failed to agree terms on a new deal.

TheĀ Daily Mail are reporting that Bayern are monitoring developments, alongside both Manchester United and Liverpool, with Gavi potentially available on a free transfer next summer.

Bayern want to sign a new midfielder ahead of next season, while Liverpool are also targeting additions in central areas with Jurgen Klopp’s team ageing in midfield.

Barcelona will be concerned at the current situation and have grown frustrated with Gavi’s reluctance to sign a new deal, as the Catalans look to secure the long-term future of one of Europe’s brightest young talents.

Gavi made his first appearance for Barcelona in August 2021 and featured 47 times in all competitions last season, scoring twice. He made his senior debut for Spain against Italy last October and became the youngest ever player to represent La Roja in the process.
