Man Utd to ‘secure’ Rashford future before January

Manchester United are hopeful of agreeing a new deal with Marcus Rashford before the January transfer window as the club look to fend off interest from foreign clubs.

Rashford has entered the final months of his contract with the Red Devils and will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs during the winter transfer window, unless United agree a new deal or trigger the one-year extension option in his current deal.

Paris Saint-Germain have a long-standing interest in Rashford and met with the forward’s representatives during the summer to discuss a potential move.

However, the Mail are reporting that United view the 25-year-old as part of their long-term future under Erik ten Hag and will look to reach an agreement on a new deal before the New Year.

Rashford has returned to form under Ten Hag this season and has seven goals in 15 appearances across all competitions, while he has laid on a further three assists. His winner against West Ham last weekend saw the forward bring up a century of goals for the club since making his senior debut as a teenager in 2016.

Rashford has not been capped for England since the Euro 2020 final, but will hope his recent resurgence can convince Gareth Southgate to include him in the Three Lions squad for the World Cup, which begins next month in Qatar.
