Manchester United will take on Barcelona in a huge clash following the draw for the Europa League’s play-off round.
Erik ten Hag’s side missed out on automatic progress to the last 16 after a runners-up finish behind Real Sociedad in the group stage and must navigate a two-legged tie with the Spanish giants to join Arsenal in the next round.
The two teams have a storied history in European competition, having faced off in Champions League finals in 2009 and 2011.
The eight group stage runners-up meet the eight Champions League drop out teams in the play-off round, with big names including Barcelona, Ajax and Juventus having dropped into the competition.
Ajax will face Union Berlin, while Juventus’ Europa League campaign will begin against FC Nantes.
Sevilla – the record six-time winners – meet PSV Eindhoven after their early elimination from the Champions League. Jose Mourinho’s Roma, winners of the Europa Conference League last season, will face Red Bull Salzburg.
