Liverpool and Arsenal have been named among the clubs tracking Real Valladolid teenager Iván Fresneda.
The right-back has alerted clubs across Europe following his breakthrough at the Spanish side this season, with the 18-year-old having made six league appearances since his La Liga debut in September.
Atletico Madrid made an approach for Fresneda last year, but Valladolid negotiated a new deal that increased his release clause to €10m and staved off interest from the Spanish capital. That clause has since increased to €30m following his appearances in the club’s first-team.
AS are reporting that Liverpool and Arsenal are among the clubs who have sent scouts to watch the defender, alongside the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are also monitoring his development, while Rennes and a clutch of Premier League clubs could potentially offer Fresneda a faster route to first-team football.
According to the report, Fresneda’s release clause will rise to €45m when he reaches 22 games for Valladolid and interested clubs could look to make a move swiftly, in a bid to avoid the rising figures and beat off increasing competition from across the continent.
