Arteta ‘delighted’ with Nketiah as striker’s brace seals 3-0 FA Cup win over Oxford

Arsenal face an away trip to Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup after the Gunners ran out 3-0 winners at League One side Oxford United tonight.

It took the Premier League leaders until just after the hour mark to break down a spirited Oxford defence, with midfielder Mohamed Elneny powering home a header from a well-flighted Fabio Vieira free-kick.

Arsenal’s quality really started to show thereafter, and Eddie Nketiah killed the game off with a clinically taken brace.

Speaking afterwards Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was impressed with the patience his young side showed in what was a tricky fixture.

“It is always tough to win in this round,” Arteta told ITV Sport.

”You have to be patient and we were patient and found the right openings.”

Arteta was also really pleased with his two-goal striker Nketiah.

“It is what we want from every player,” Arteta continued. ”I am delighted. You have to be scoring goals and he is doing it.”

Next up for Arsenal is an away trip to North London rivals Spurs on Sunday.
