Barcelona are interested in a deal to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to the club, just six months after the sale of the forward to Chelsea.
Aubameyang wants to leave Chelsea this month after a miserable return to the Premier League, with the forward having started just four league games since his arrival at Stamford Bridge last summer.
The 33-year-old has not started a fixture in any competition since November and was substituted after coming off the bench during the club’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City last week.
Aubameyang does not appear to feature in Graham Potter’s plans having struggled for minutes despite the lack of available alternatives at centre-forward in the Chelsea squad. According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are open to re-signing the Gabon international this month.
FIFA rules dictate that Aubameyang can not feature for another club this season, having only signed for Barcelona from Arsenal last January, before a summer move to Chelsea.
Aubameyang can’t play for any other club than Barcelona & Chelsea due to FIFA rules. 100% confirmed. 🔵🔴 #FCB
Been told Barça would love the idea to bring Auba back… but only if it’s 100% free transfer, different salary terms and only if Memphis Depay leaves (Atléti want him). pic.twitter.com/6pYlbDdd8R

Aubameyang impressed during his six months in Spain and scored 11 goals in 13 league starts for Barcelona, but was allowed to leave following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
Barcelona are understood to be open to a deal, provided it was a free transfer and on a reduced salary to his previous deal. A transfer is also dependent on Memphis Depay leaving the club with Atletico Madrid interested in the Netherlands international.
AS are reporting that Aubameyang wants to return to the Camp Nou after an unhappy return to the Premier League. The Spanish publication states that the forward has contacted Barcelona manager Xavi and that he would be willing to return ‘at any cost’.
