Wout Weghorst is set to undergo a medical at Manchester United after the club agreed a loan deal for the forward.
Erik ten Hag is closing in on a deal for Weghorst after reaching a compensation agreement with Besiktas. The 30-year-old signed for the club on a season-long loan deal from Burnley last summer, but has informed the Turkish side of his desire to leave amid interest from Old Trafford.
United have agreed to pay a fee of €3m to Besiktas to cut short Weghorst’s loan deal, with the Netherlands international set to sign for the Red Devils from Burnley on loan for the remainder of the season.
Fabrizio Romano has reported a breakthrough has been made and Weghorst will fly to Manchester to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of the move.

The Dutchman will represent a short-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract was terminated in November following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan, in which the Portugal captain criticised Ten Hag and senior figures at United.
Weghorst has scored eight goals and laid on a further four assist in 16 appearances for Besiktas this season and scored twice for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar.
The 6ft 6in forward scored just twice in 17 appearances as Burnley were relegated from the Premier League last season, but arrived in England with a prolific goal record in the Bundesliga.
He scored 59 goals in 118 games across three seasons at Wolfsburg, with only Robert Lewandowski scoring more league goals than Weghorst during his time in Germany’s top division.
