Arsenal have submitted an improved bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk with the club ‘getting closer’ to reaching an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Gunners have already seen two offers turned down for the winger, but have returned with an improved proposal as the Premier League leaders look to secure a deal for the sought-after star.
Mikel Arteta has made Mudryk his number one target for the winter window as he looks to improve Arsenal’s options in the final third, with the 22-year-old having catapulted himself into the consciousness of Europe’s elite with his performances this season.
Chelsea have also been credited with an interest, but Fabrizio Romano is reporting that there has been no official bid from the west Londoners. Talks are ongoing between Arsenal and Shakhtar, for a player who is valued at around £87m by the Ukrainian side.

Arsenal’s latest bid is understood to be close to €70m (£62m) plus add-ons and was submitted on Thursday evening. Discussions are continuing over the add-ons of the deal, while there are no issues on personal terms with Mudryk keen on the move to the Premier League.
The winger has been in scintillating form for Shakhtar this season, with ten goals and eight assists in 18 appearances across all competitions. He impressed during the Champions League’s group stage despite Shakhtar’s exit, providing five goal involvements in six European fixtures.

Mudryk’s arrival would add another option for Arsenal in the final third as the Gunners attempt to cope with the absence of the injured Gabriel Jesus.
