Chelsea’s investment could be set to continue this month with the club said to be aiming to sign three more players this January.
The west Londoners have spent more than £400m since last summer after completing a deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk this week, after Chelsea hijacked Arsenal’s move to sign the Shakhtar Donetsk winger.
Mudryk was paraded as a Chelsea player before the club’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, after signing a seven-and-a-half year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old has completed a transfer worth up to €100m (£88m) and has become the club’s fifth arrival this January, but Chelsea’s spending looks set to continue this month.
Football Insider are reporting that owner Todd Boehly is set to continue his recruitment drive since taking charge last year and Chelsea want three further signings before the transfer deadline.
Chelsea have made a £26.5m bid to sign PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Mudueke, while the club remain interested in Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Real Madrid defender Rafa Marin is also on the club’s radar this month.
Chelsea broke the record for a summer transfer spend in 2022 after investing more than £270m in the squad and now look set to shatter the record for a January window.
Mudryk’s arrival was their fifth deal this month, following the captures of David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos and the loan arrival of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
