Chelsea open to selling Raheem Sterling just six months after £47 million move

Chelsea are said to be open to offers for Raheem Sterling just six months after the winger’s £47m move to Stamford Bridge.

Sterling signed for Chelsea last summer after completing a high-profile move from Manchester City but has struggled to make the expected impact during a difficult start to the season in west London.

The England international has scored four goals in 15 league appearances for Chelsea, who are reportedly willing to let the 28-year-old leave should a suitable offer arrive.

Chelsea this week completed the £88m signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donestsk, having hijacked Arsenal’s move to sign the winger in a stunning deal. The 22-year-old has signed a long-term contract at Chelsea and will increase competition for places in a wide role.

Mudryk joins David Datro Fofana and Joao Felix as attacking additions at Chelsea this month and Football Insider are reporting that the club are open to offers for Sterling.

Sterling signed a five-year deal last summer with the option for a further season, but the report states that his contract will not prevent the Blues’ board from letting him go.

Sterling won four Premier League titles and scored 131 goals across seven seasons at Manchester City before his move to Chelsea last summer.
