Erik ten Hag has called for ‘better focus’ and ‘better conduct’ when Manchester United face Crystal Palace this weekend.
United host Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend as the club look to continue their fine form post-World Cup.
Ten Hag’s side have won ten of their last 12 games in all competitions and progressed to the Carabao Cup final with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in midweek.
The Dutchman is keen to see more improvement from his side and has called for a better performance from the Red Devils than their last meeting with Palace. United were held to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park last month after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser.
“We have always to focus on the game, no matter what, it is our job. That is why we are here, we have a lot to do against them,” Ten Hag told his pre-match press conference.
“Two weeks ago, we had a bad performance there, I wasn’t happy with the performance from us, it was 90% focus and energy and we dropped two points. Tomorrow we need a better game, better focus in the game, better conduct in the way of play because we have to beat them because that’s quite clear.”
Ten Hag said that he hopes his side have learned lessons from their last meeting with Palace, as United look to secure a positive result and continue their push for Champions League football.
“It’s always difficult to say before but we know a lot from them, they know a lot about us, we were really unhappy with our game at Crystal Palace so I demand a much better performance than in London, so we have a good chance to win.”
