Chelsea continued their recent upturn in form by beating struggling Leicester 3-1 today at the King Power Stadium.
Former Leicester full-back Ben Chilwell opened the scoring for Chelsea on 11 minutes, the England international volleying a Kalidou Koulibaly cross in at the near post, although Foxes ‘keeper Danny Ward really should have done a whole lot better.
Leicester equalised five minutes later when Patson Daka drove forward and smashed a powerful effort into the bottom right-hand corner from 25 yards out.
Chelsea would go in at the break in the lead though with Kai Havertz pulling an absolute worldie out of the bag in the sixth minute of first-half injury time. Mega-money January signing Enzo Fernandes scooped a sublime pass over the Leicester backline and Havertz duly applied a delicious touch to volley the ball over the head of a stranded Ward.

Graham Potter’s side sealed the three points in the 78 minute when Mateo Kovacic hammered home a brilliant scissor-kick volley from 12 yards out.
Things would go from bad to worse for Brendan Rodgers and his struggling Leicester side on 87 minutes when erratic central defender Wout Faes was shown a red card for his second bookable offence.
Chelsea remains 10th in the Premier League table after today’s win, although it is their third victory in the space of a week, and speaking afterwards their manager Potter admitted it has been a really good week for his side.
“It’s been a really positive week for us, three wins against Leeds, Dortmund and today says a lot about the development of the team,” Potter told Sky Sports.
”It’s a hard fought game as they always are but in the end I thought we deserved to win.”
“Our defensive record has been good in terms of goals conceded in the Premier League and the mentality is strong in the team. They give everything, they want to keep the ball out of the net and we have players on the other side who want to put the ball in the back of the net.
“Three wins in the week at this level is very pleasing. Now we have to follow that up with a win next weekend and then into the international break. We will try to get three points against Everton.”
