Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong is reportedly ‘keen’ on a move to Manchester United.
Frimpong started his career as part of the Manchester City academy, joining Celtic in 2019 without making a senior appearance for the Citizens.
He made 51 appearances across two seasons with the Scottish giants, before making the move to current club, Bayer Leverkusen, where he has since made 84 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing assists.
Reports in recent weeks have claimed that Manchester United are interested in the Dutchman, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have held a ‘positive’ meeting with the player’s agent.
The Italian journalist confirms that Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also interested in the 22-year-old, though the attack-minded full-back would prefer a move to the Premier League and is ‘keen’ on joining Manchester United.

Romano says that United’s interest in Frimpong could hinge on whether they receive any interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and while the former Crystal Palace full-back has enjoyed a rejuvenation under Erik ten Hag, he could be allowed to leave in the summer.
It doesn’t however change the situation of Diogo Dalot, who is continuing talks over a ‘long-term’ contract extension.
As per FBRef, Frimpong ranks in the 99th percentile for progressive carries, take-ons, and touches in the opposition area among fellow full backs.
Reports have suggested that Bayer Leverkusen value Frimpong at around €50 million (£44m).
