Manchester United and Tottenham are considering a move to sign Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan this summer.
Tomori has shone since signing for the Rossoneri from Chelsea and has been a key figure in the club’s unexpected run to the Champions League semi-finals this season. Milan have conceded just one goal in the knockout rounds to date, to set up a Milan derby with Inter in the competition’s last four.
Tomori has impressed since leaving the Premier League, having joined Milan – initially on loan before a £25m permanent move – after falling out of favour under Frank Lampard at Chelsea.
The centre-back won the Serie A title during his first full season in Italy, but has been regularly overlooked with England and was not included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
According to the Mail, Manchester United and Spurs are weighing up a move to bring Tomori back to the Premier League. Each are considering centre-back additions this summer and Tomori’s development in Italian football, his preference to operate on the left side, and his recovery pace are all attributes that appeal.
The 25-year-old has more than four years remaining on his contract at the San Siro and could have reservations over a return to England following an impressive spell in Milan.
However, a Premier League move could improve his England chances, having won just three caps since his senior debut in 2019.
