Manchester United and Newcastle have been linked with a move to bring Sadio Mane back to the Premier League.
Bayern Munich are understood to be open to offloading the forward this summer after an underwhelming debut season at the club, with Mane having scored just 12 goals in all competitions since his arrival from Liverpool.
The Senegal international was involved in an altercation with team-mate Leroy Sane following Bayern’s defeat at Manchester City in the Champions League last month and the Bundesliga side are prepared to sell the 31-year-old this summer.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Manchester United could offer Mane a shock route back into English football. Erik ten Hag is keen to add goals to his side following an over-reliance on Marcus Rashford this season and Mane would add a versatile option to his front line.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports claim Newcastle could be an attractive option for Mane at the end of the season. The Magpies are closing in on a place in next season’s Champions League and Eddie Howe has been linked with signing a left-sided attacker this summer.
Mane – who Fabrizio Romano has reported wants to fight for his future at Bayern Munich – scored 120 goals across six seasons at Liverpool and won the Premier League’s Golden Boot during the 2018/19 campaign.
