Ole Gunner Solskjaers provides update on Raphael Varane ahead of Sunday Wolves clash

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed with the work Raphaël Varane has done at Carrington since signing for the Reds.

The world cup-winning defender could be in contention to Make his United debut when they make the trip to Molineux on Sunday.
And ahead of the game, Solskjaer spoke about how the 28-year-old first weeks at the club have gone.

The Frenchman was an unused substitute in last weekend’s draw at St Mary’s against Southampton, with the game at St Mary’s coming too soon for Varane who only started training with the rest of the squad that week.
Now, he’s had another week on the pitch with his Red team-mates, and the boss have liked what he has seen from our new no.19 in the build-up to sunday’s outing.

“He’s working very hard,” Ole said to journalist via Video link on Friday afternoon.

“When I asked him if he was ready to play, we had a behind-closed-doors [game] against Burnley and he felt: ‘No, I need to suffer in the training field first.’

“He needs to work because you know he had his holidays, he came in, Said his goodbyes at Real Madrid, then he didn’t train with them, then he was waiting for his Visa, then he came here, had his isolation.

“We found him a little garden, a house with a garden, he wasn’t ready to play, but now he’s had a good couple of weeks of training and he’s looking impressive.”
