Chelsea’s Rudiger on PSG radar as they eye next high profile free transfer

Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as the club eye their next high-profile free transfer addition.

Rudiger has entered the final season of his contract at Chelsea and is yet to agree terms on a new deal, despite the west Londoners being keen to retain the centre-back who has been an integral figure since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

The 28-year-old had found himself out of favour under Frank Lampard and was linked with moves to PSG and Tottenham last summer, though has returned to prominence since the arrival of Tuchel as head coach in January.

Rudiger will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January and Le10 Sport are reporting that PSG are preparing a move should a new contract not be agreed before the winter window.

PSG strengthened their squad with a number of high-profile free agents during this summer’s transfer period, adding Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma on Bosman deals.

Rudiger could now be the latest player to make the move to the Parc des Princes as a free agent, with the defender set to attract significant interest as his contract at Stamford Bridge reaches its conclusion.
