Paul Pogba has branded media headlines that he snubbed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as ‘big lies’ following Manchester United’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Pogba was named amongst the substitutes during the Red Devils’ humiliating home defeat to their fierce rivals last weekend, before being sent off for a dangerous challenge on Naby Keita after coming off the bench in the second half.
The Sun reported that the midfielder ‘did not speak’ to Solskjaer post-match and that the France international has shelved all contract talks with the club, with the Norwegian reported to have lost the faith of senior players in the dressing room.
Pogba has now responded to the story as ‘fake news’ on his social media and admits he felt compelled to address the issue out of ‘respect’ for his manager, club and the Red Devils’ fanbase.

“Tabloid press once again wants to create polemic with 100% fake news,” he wrote on Instagram. “Big lies to make headlines.
“Journalists who use my name to be seen when there is nothing to see.
“The only reason I address this b.s is out of respect for my coach, club and fans to send a clear message: the less you read of these people the better you are, they have no shame and will say just anything with no basis AT ALL.”
