Timo Werner and Anthony Martial are said to be on Borussia Dortmund’s radar as the club consider forward additions this summer.
Dortmund are in the market for attacking options and are close to finalising a deal to sign Karim Adeyemi from Red Bull Salzburg, having beaten off competition from Bayern Munich to secure a deal for the Germany international.
The 20-year-old has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Salzburg this season and a deal is close to being confirmed, though Dortmund remain in pursuit of further additions and are targeting Premier League names.
90min are reporting that Chelsea’s Timo Werner and Manchester United forward Anthony Martial are under consideration, with both players having endured difficult spells in English football.
Werner signed for Chelsea in a £47.5m deal from RB Leipzig in 2020 but has been unable to replicate his Bundesliga form in the Premier League, with the 26-year-old having scored just one league goal for the west Londoners this season.
He is believed to be open to a return to the Bundesliga after scoring 95 goals in 159 games for Leipzig, whilst he has also netted 22 goals in 48 caps for Germany at international level.
Martial is currently on loan at Sevilla after falling out of favour at Manchester United, but the Spanish side are not expected to pursue a permanent deal.
A number of clubs are monitoring his situation with Martial having admitted he lost the enjoyment of football during the latter period of his time at Old Trafford.
Gabriel Jesus is another name in the frame with the Brazilian having entered the final 15 months of his contract at Manchester City and ‘one avenue being investigated’ is an exchange deal including Erling Haaland, given the Premier League champion’s strong interest in the Dortmund forward.
