Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that his side are ‘incredibly focused’ ahead of Sunday’s crunch clash with Leeds.
The Catalan coaches charges played out a Champions League classic against Real Madrid on Tuesday, with City eventually running out 4-3 winners over the Spanish giants in their semi-final first leg clash at the Etihad.
City now face a trip across the Pennines to face a relegation threatened Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday evening as they look to continue their push to regain the Premier League title.
Title rivals Liverpool can go two points clear of City at the summit if they beat Newcastle away in Saturday’s early kick-off and Guardiola admitted this makes things ‘tougher’ for his side.
“It’s tougher because Leeds is tough,” said Guardiola at his pre-match press conference. “I know how the crowd is, they are fighting because they need points. We need points too.”
However, Guardiola was quick to point out that his side are intensely concentrated on securing a Premier League and Champions League double over the next few weeks.
“I saw the team today and they are incredibly focused,” Pep said. ”Everyone in the club knows what we are playing for. We know what we have to do.
