Man Utd ‘in contact’ with Nkunku with offer to potentially be made next week

Manchester United are ‘in contact’ with Christopher Nkunku’s representatives and could submit an offer for the RB Leipzig forward in the coming days.

Nkunku has emerged as a potential transfer target for the Red Devils after a brilliant season at Leipzig, with the forward named as the Bundesliga’s Player of the Season after scoring 35 goals and providing 20 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

 

The 24-year-old’s output as exploded after moving into a more advanced position and he has been linked with several leading sides across Europe.

Sky Sports Germany are reporting that Manchester United have made contact with the player’s agent and an offer of up to €60m is expected next week.

Ralf Rangnick has endorsed the signing of Nkunku, who made his senior debut for France during March’s international break and the transfer has been backed by Erik ten Hag.

Leipzig are keen to retain the forward and are prepared to offer a new deal with the inclusion of a release clause, in a bid to keep Nkunku at the Red Bull Arena for a further season.

His current deal does not possess a release clause and Leipzig will hold out for a huge fee, with Chelsea, Bayern Munich and former side Paris Saint-Germain also among the clubs said to be interested.
