Sadio Mane looks set to call time on his six-year spell at Liverpool with reports saying that he wants a new experience.
The 30-year-old has formed an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking lineup ever since his move from Southampton back in 2016, making 269 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
During his time at Anfield, he has netted 120 goals and provided 48 assists, collecting winners medals in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup.
In recent weeks, the Senegalese has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, with the Liverpool number 10 having remained coy on his future in the buildup to the club’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
According to Fabrizio Romano, writing in the Guardian, Mane ‘feels the time is right for a new experience’ and ‘has resolved to leave Liverpool this summer’.
Mane only has one year remaining on his contract at Anfield, and would be free to leave the club as a free agent next summer, and the Reds have been trying to persuade Mane to extend his deal to keep him at the club.
The report adds that the Liverpool would be ‘reluctant sellers’ of a player who has featured in 51 of the club’s 63 games this season, and would only sanction his departure on two conditions.
It says that Liverpool would ‘want a replacement lined up first’, while it would also take an offer ‘much more than £30m for them to consider selling’.
