Djed Spence keen to stay at Forest despite Arsenal and Tottenham interest

Djed Spence has admitted he ‘would love to stay’ at Nottingham Forest next season despite interest from several Premier League clubs.

Spence starred during a season on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough, playing a key role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.

The 21-year-old’s performances are understood to have attracted the interest of clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham and Brentford, though the right-back has opened up on his desire to join newly-promoted Forest on a permanent deal.

“[This club] means everything to me,” Spence told NottinghamshireLive. “I’ve come here and the fans and gaffer have both taken me in.

“We lose together and win together. We’re going up together. This means everything to me.

“I would love to stay, but it’s not in my hands. We’ll see what the future holds.”

Middlesbrough are believed to want a fee in the region of £20m for the full-back, a figure which would represent a club-record for the North East side.

Bayern Munich are also said to have tracked his progress this season, with Spence having scored three goals and provided four assists.
