Chelsea’s new owners are set to back Thomas Tuchel with the manager promised up to six new signings this summer.
The west London club’s new ownership are prepared to invest in the squad with Tuchel set to be handed in the region of £200m to invest in his squad, as co-owner Todd Boehly outlines his ambitions after taking over at Stamford Bridge.
Top of the list of priorities for Tuchel is the signing of two new centre-backs, following the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers.
Sky Sports are reporting that Chelsea’s pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt has been boosted, with reports in Italy claiming the defender will not sign a new deal at Juventus.
Chelsea have also been linked with signing Sevilla’s Jules Kounde after a failed pursuit of the France international last summer.
Tuchel also plans to add to his attacking options after agreeing a deal to loan Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan. An out-and-out centre-forward is not expected to arrive however, with Chelsea targeting goalscoring wide forwards including Raheem Sterling and Richarlison.
The Blues have also been linked with Lens defender Jonathan Clauss as Tuchel seeks additional competition at full-back.
