Interested clubs balk at Wolves’ demands for Neves

Ruben Neves looks set to remain at Wolves this summer with interested clubs having baulked at the club’s £75m valuation of the midfielder.

Neves had been named as a transfer target for a number of leading clubs this summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona among those linked with a move for the 25-year-old.

However, the Sun are reporting that Wolves’ demands have dissuaded clubs from making an offer, having demanded a fee of £75m for the Portugal international.

Interested clubs had priced Neves in the region of £45m and the difference between those valuations mean the midfielder is likely to remain at Molineux beyond the transfer window.

That will represent a huge boost to Bruno Lage ahead of the new campaign, who saw his side falter in the season’s final weeks to miss out on European qualification.

However, Sport are reporting that Barcelona have made plans to revisit their interest in Neves next summer as the club look for a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets.

Neves has made 212 appearances across all competitions for Wolves since signing in a £15m deal from Porto in 2017.
