Leicester insist club have received no ‘concrete’ offers for Tielemans

Leicester have insisted that there have been no ‘concrete’ offers for Youri Tielemans despite speculation linking the midfielder with an exit.

Tielemans has entered the final 12 months of his deal with the Foxes and is understood to be open to leaving the club this summer, with both Manchester United and Arsenal among the clubs credited with an interest.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are believed to be prepared to sanction his sale rather than run the risk of losing the Belgium international on a free transfer, but Leicester have reportedly not received an official offer for the midfielder.

Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has claimed that the club are yet to receive any ‘concrete’ offers for Tielemans, as per Fabrizio Romano, with just over a month remaining of the transfer window.

Tielemans signed for Leicester on an initial loan deal in 2018 and has since made 158 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 24 goals.

He scored the winner as the Foxes beat Chelsea 1-0 to win the FA Cup in 2021, but is believed to be keen to test himself at a higher level.

Brendan Rodgers last week said Leicester, who have failed to make a signing so far this summer, need to sell players before incomings can arrive at the King Power Stadium.

“Clearly, we have to do some business out before we can get players in,” Rodgers said, as per the Metro.

“We just are not in the same position as some of the other clubs. Until that changes, I keep working with the players we have.”
