Conte laughs off speculation over Juventus return

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has laughed off speculation linking him with a potential return to Juventus.

Conte has been linked with returning to his former side as the pressure increases on Max Allegri, with Juventus eighth in Serie A after winning just two of their opening seven league fixtures.

The Bianconeri have also opened their Champions League group stage campaign with back-to-back defeats and Conte has been named as a potential replacement for Allegri in Turin.

The Italian spent three season in charge of Juventus between 2011 and 2014 and won three consecutive league titles with the club, but has dismissed the suggestion that he could return for a second spell as manager.

Conte laughed off the speculation and reiterated his happiness at Spurs, while he believes talk of him replacing Allegri is disrespectful to both the Juventus manager and his current club.

“This is incredible. In this period I think this is disrespectful for the coach that works in Juventus and for me working in Tottenham,” Conte said at his pre-match press conference ahead of the North London derby.

“We have just started the season. Many time I have spoken about this topic and I’ve always said I’m happy and enjoying my time with Tottenham.

“We have the whole season to find the best solution for the club and for me and for sure I’m enjoying my time at Tottenham. I have a great relationship with the owner and Paratici. I don’t see any problems at the moment in the future. We both signed the contract. I don’t want to listen to someone speaking about this [linked elsewhere].”
