Arnaut Danjuma is available to make his Tottenham debut this weekend as the club face Preston in the FA Cup fourth round.
Spurs travel to face the Championship side at Deepdale having added to their squad this week with the loan signing of Danjuma from Villarreal.
The winger has signed on loan to improve the club’s options in the final third and Spurs’ assistant manager Cristian Stellini has confirmed that the Dutch international is in contention to feature at Preston.
“Danjuma is available and is a player we can use tomorrow in the game,” he said at a pre-match press conference. “We only have one problem with Harry [Kane] as he played the last game with illness. He didn’t train in the week but trained this morning.”
Stellini discussed the arrival of Danjuma, who scored 16 goals in all competitions as Villarreal reached the Champions League semi-finals last season.
“He has experience because he’s played Champions League last season,” he said. “He can play like a striker or a winger. A lot of positions he can cover.
“We are looking forward to working with him. It’s normal in January to have to give him all the information to play in our team. We are happy to have him.”
The Italian discussed where he sees Danjuma fitting into the Spurs side and said he expects the versatile 26-year-old to feature in a more central role for the club.
“It depends on the system we use, right now as a number 10 or the striker. This is the way we want to work with him.”
