Graham Potter will turn down the chance of an instant return to management and will wait until the summer before making a decision on his future.
Potter has been linked with an immediate return to Premier League management following his dismissal at Chelsea last weekend, with Leicester understood to be interested in appointing the 47-year-old following Brendan Rodgers’ departure from the King Power Stadium.
However, Potter is keen to ‘recharge’ following a difficult period at Chelsea, one which saw the west Londoners win just seven of his 22 league games in charge. Potter was sacked with Chelsea 11th in the Premier League table, but remains admired at several clubs across the division.
The Daily Mail are reporting that, in addition to Leicester, Brighton would be open to Potter returning to the Amex Stadium if Roberto De Zerbi leaves. Tottenham are also currently assessing candidates to replace Antonio Conte in north London.
Leicester’s need for a new head coach is pressing following the mutual agreement to end Rodgers’ reign at the club on Sunday, with the Foxes in the Premier League’s relegation places and without a win in six league games.
The Foxes could opt for an interim appointment before reassessing this summer and the club have been linked with Rafael Benitez, Ralph Hasenhuttl and former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch.
