Arsenal ‘keeping tabs’ on Vlahovic situation

Arsenal are understood to be ‘keeping tabs’ on Dusan Vlahovic’s situation at Juventus as the club look to sign a centre-forward this summer.

Mikel Arteta wants to add a ‘physical’ forward to his squad ahead of next season and the Gunners are monitoring Vlahovic ahead of a summer move.

Arsenal were keen on a deal to sign the Serbian striker during last season’s January transfer window, but missed out to Juventus who signed the forward from Fiorentina for €70m.

Vlahovic has endured a challenging period since signing for Juventus however, who crashed out of the Champions League at the group stage this season and look set to miss out on next season’s competition after being docked points in Serie A for alleged financial irregularities and false accounting.

That situation, coupled alongside Arsenal’s progress under Mikel Arteta, means Vlahovic would reportedly be open to a move to north London having turned down the Gunners last season.

FourFourTwo are reporting that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old, who has scored 32 goals in 55 league appearances since the start of last season.

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Rasmus Hojland following his breakout season at Atalanta, while a decision will be made on the future of Folarin Balogun after an impressive campaign on loan at Reims.

The 21-year-old has scored 17 goals in 28 appearances for the French side, with only Lille’s Jonathan David and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe having outscored the academy product in Ligue 1 this season.
