Jose Mourinho has been offered a massive €30m a season deal to manage Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
The Saudi Pro League are spending huge sums to attract overseas talent to the domestic division after the country’s sovereign wealth fund (PIF) took control of the four largest teams in the league, Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Ahli.
Mourinho is the latest name to have received a proposal to join the project with Al Hilal having offered the Roma coach a huge deal. The 60-year-old is understood to have turned down the deal however, with his focus on the Italian side.
Mourinho led Roma to the Europa League final last season, but defeat to Sevilla meant the club missed out on Champions League qualification after a sixth-place finish in Serie A.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the proposal from Al Hilal was worth €30m net per season, but Mourinho refused the offer to remain in Rome. Al Hilal also approached Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri but saw the Italian turn down the position.
The Saudi side have been active in the transfer market to secure big names, with the arrivals at the club this summer including Chelsea duo Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy and Wolves’ midfielder Ruben Neves.
