Chelsea reconsider Dusan Vlahovic deal

Chelsea are reconsidering a swap-deal proposal from Juventus that would see Dusan Vlahovic sign for the west London side.

Juventus are proposing an exchange deal that would involve forwards Romelu Lukaku and Vlahovic, with the Italian side keen on a deal to sign the former this summer.

The proposal would see Chelsea part with Lukaku and a fee in exchange for Vlahovic, who has emerged as an option for the Blues at centre-forward.

Chelsea rejected the chance to sign Vlahovic last month, but Fabrizio Romano is reporting that talks with Juventus have now reopened. The Serbia international has scored 23 goals in 63 appearances for Juventus since arriving from Fiorentina in an €80m deal in January 2022.

Chelsea have already signed forwards Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson this summer, but Mauricio Pochettino suggested the club could target a ‘different profile’ of forward before the transfer window’s closure.

“Yes, of course, maybe we can add some different profile or different player who can help us, of course we are open,” he told the club’s official website last week.

Juventus are keen on a deal to sign Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at rivals Inter Milan. Negotiations over a permanent move to Inter failed to reach an agreement and Juventus are keen to capitalise with a move to sign the Belgium international.
