Klopp praises new signings as Liverpool prepare for Bournemouth

Jurgen Klopp has praised new signings Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister as Liverpool prepare to face Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend.

The midfield duo made their debuts during last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea and Klopp was pleased with the early contribution from the new arrivals.

Speaking ahead of the Reds’ clash with Bournemouth at Anfield, Klopp said he was impressed with the work-rate of Szoboszlai and Mac Allister’s creativity during the duo’s debuts at Stamford Bridge.

“[Dominik] Szoboszlai was physically impressive. His work rate to the late minute was immense, I didn’t expect that,” he told his pre-match press conference.

“Being there on that level until the last second was special.

“[Alexis] Mac Allister was great at finding small spaces and being a creator. He was also defensive too.

“We didn’t play enough football and that was the problem against Chelsea. We weren’t settled enough, that’s not too surprising.”

Liverpool return to Anfield for the first time this season on Saturday and Klopp admits he is relishing the chance to return to home turf.

“We’ve missed Anfield and missed the atmosphere,” he added.

“I’m pretty sure the people are excited and happy to see us so let’s use that as well.

“Yes, it’s Premier League and early in the season there are no favourites. You have to fight, play, shoot and all of these things.”
