Crystal Palace are prepared to rival Nottingham Forest in the race to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Henderson spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest and impressed across his 20 appearances in all competitions, before thigh injury curtailed his campaign in January.
Forest had been keen to bring back the England international to the City Ground, with Henderson’s hopes of becoming first-choice at Manchester United ended following the arrival of Andre Onana from Inter Milan in a £47.2m deal earlier this summer.
Forest – who have since signed USA international Matt Turner from Arsenal – held talks with the Red Devils over a loan deal with an obligation to buy, but a deal has since stalled and Fabrizio Romano is reporting that there is now interest from Crystal Palace.
Palace are in the market for a new goalkeeper with Vicente Guaita set to leave Selhurst Park and Henderson is viewed as a potential option.
The 26-year-old would rival fellow England goalkeeper Sam Johnstone for the number one role at the Eagles, should he complete a move to Palace. He is understood to be valued at around £20m at Old Trafford.
