Liverpool have €30m offer turned down for Brazilian midfielder

Liverpool have had an offer of €30m rejected by Fluminense for midfielder Andre, according to reports in Brazil.

Liverpool have been linked with a move to sign the 22-year-old as Jurgen Klopp looks to reinforce his options in the centre of the pitch, following the exits of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to the Saudi Pro League.

ESPN Brazil are reporting that the Reds have made a bid for Andre worth €30m (£25.6m), but have seen the offer rebuffed with Fluminense reluctant to lose the midfielder before the end of their league season in December.

Fluminense are understood to have informed Liverpool that Andre will not be sold in the current European transfer window, as the club chase Copa Libertadores success this season.

The stance of the Brazilian side could see Liverpool move on to alternative targets, despite the addition of Japan captain Wataru Endo from Stuttgart last week.

Liverpool have been credited with interest in Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch and Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
