Arsenal have turned down an approach from Chelsea for Emile Smith Rowe and have insisted the midfielder is not for sale.
Chelsea are understood to have enquired into the availability of Smith Rowe as the Blues look for further attacking additions before the deadline, but have seen their advances rejected.
Smith Rowe struggled for regular first-team football at Arsenal last season after returning from injury, failing to start a single fixture in the Premier League for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The 23-year-old has been an unused substitute across the Gunners’ opening three games of the new campaign, but remains a popular figure in north London and part of Arteta’s plans.
Smith Rowe broke into the Arsenal side during the 2021/22 campaign and was shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year award after scoring 10 goals in 33 league appearances.
He made his senior debut for England in 2021 and has won three caps, while he featured as the Young Lions won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship during the summer.
Arsenal remain keen to retain the services of the versatile academy graduate and The Evening Standard are reporting that the Gunners have no interest in allowing Smith Rowe to depart across the capital.
